Olazabal Course, Mission Hills

Mission Hills, in Shenzhen China, is Asia's answer to golfing Disneyland. The Jose Maria Olazabal course set in the hills of Shenzhen delivers everything the true golfing enthusiast could want, elevated tees, sweeping valleys, a litany of bunkers...Bogey ponders - could this be golfing paradise?

Course Architect - Jose Maria Olazabal
Length - 7,356m / Par 72
Signature Hole - The Par 5 - 15th.
Course Highlight - Picturesque golfing experience from hotel to the 19th. It truly is golfing heaven.

China's unstoppable economic growth has led to massive development, golf being no exception.. Golf Mecca, Mission Hills, is an example of what the industrious Chinese are capable of. Mission Hills, touted as the world's number one golfing resort, doesn't fail to deliver on whats clearly an ambitious title. Set in the hills outside Shenzhen, this course (one of ten at Mission Hills), designed by the Spanish great, is as challenging as it is spectacular. A combination of super elevated tees, imposing mountains, and lush fairways sweeping through jungle valleys, will inspire anyone who appreciates the finest in golfing experiences. The course is littered with crisp white bunkers, some as deep as houses ready to catch the slightest misjudgment. The greens are typically Asian in style with tricky shapes, and massive slopes, the fairways are pristine, and in championship condition. Adding value are the addition of complimentary caddies, and an array of courses to choose from, all lying within the one complex that's similar in stature to the Truman show, Mission Hills is truly a unique golfing experience, and a must play course/s for any golf enthusiast in the region.

Bogey's Ratings

Greens - 8/10 - superb condition, but can be at times impossible to read.
Fairways - 9/10 - As good as you would expect of a championship course, carts and traffic remain on paths, maintaining quality.
Bunkers - 9/10 - Almost perfect, manicured and with fluffy sand, although, perhaps to many.
Customer Service - 8/10 The higher price tag means the ultimate in customer service, including complimentary caddies, lockers, drinks, cooling towels, and post match assessment. The Chinese patrons can be lacking in etiquette however.
Value - 9/10 - Overall, worth it, but pricey, and out of reach for the average golfer.

Overall Rating - 8.6/10 flags
