Gerringong Golf Course

An open, scenic, reasonably forgiving hit awaits at the Gerringong Golf Club on the NSW South Coast just south of Kiama. Its not pretentious, its picturesque, and its set right on the beach. Its not uncommon for surfers to make their way across a fairway as you line up that next shot.

Gerringong is a unique course, set on the beautiful South Coast, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Gerringong is a great day out if you want some sun, some views, and a layout that's not too tricky but provides enough of a challenge. The course is open plan, with very few trees, which makes the occasional sliced tee shot a very easy find providing you miss the sporadic thick rough. Every hole is a challenge, and although there is plenty of space, this course is by no means a pushover. There are some blind tee shots, water carries, including a double on the 10th, and the wind off the beach is always a factor for the uninitiated. For a small club, with a smaller budget, Gerringong Golf Course is in excellent condition and well worth the day trip down from Sydney or Woolongong. A little gem, and at $24 bucks a round, its a bargain.

Greens - 6/10 - Good for a course of this nature and value. For those that have played true links courses, you will understand the greens that await you.
Fairways - 7/10 - In great condition, sloped and good grass coverage.
Bunkers - 6/10 - Good, but not exciting and probably could do with some design.
Customer Service - 7/10 - Friendly staff. Friendlier locals.
Value - 8/10 - Excellent, at $28 dollars, it cant be beaten.
