Duval Course, Mission Hills

The David Duval Course in Mission Hills complex is an exciting combination of elevated greens and tees, sloping fairways, set against a backdrop of thick tropical bushland. Should Duval have stuck to course design?

Course Architect - David Duval
Length - 6966m / Par 72
Signature Hole - The Par 5, 10th
Course Highlights - The exaggerated water carries, and elevated tees.

Mission Hills delivers an exciting challenge to any golfer who likes the finest. Bogey Golfer recently reviewed the Olazabal Course but now it is The David Duval course's time to be put under the spotlight.  Although shorter in length to other courses on the complex, it remains an immaculate layout, narrow at times, and with greens that force the player to assess every putt with caution. The tee’s are the key to this course, most are elevated, giving superb views of the fairways as they snake through the Chinese hillsides. The design is challenging, as the corridors are thin to the green, and to miss usually means a lost ball. Duval has used bunkers sparingly, but they are in difficult positions, but always in play. There are also plenty of dog legs, and some mighty water carries, which makes it a thinking man’s tee shot with fairway positioning being of  paramount importance. Bogey's hot tip, bring some spare balls, as the water is seductive,  and cruel, and has claimed its fair share of the little white pills.
